sheikh-hasina_650x400_41423657263KOLKATA/ DHAKA:  As Bangladesh heads for an election year – 2019 – Awami League leader and Prime Minister Begum Hasina is looking for picking up vote-banks abandoned either by Bangladesh Nationalist Party of Khaleda Zia or by scattered Jammat.
“With BNP workers losing their grip as inactive party leadership increasingly retreating, Hasina thinks it’s time she won over this abandoned vote-bank,“So with  scattered Jammat, its workers have also become an abandoned vote-bank. And exploring as hers is likely to put her in 2019 in a better shape,’’ said top League leader.

However, quite a few League’s political allies feel it “may not be as easy as Hasina might think.’’“There are are other political parties would think much the same way,’’ a leader of  League ally feel. They point to an equal aggressive Bangladesh SamajTantri Party (Bangladesh Socialist Party) which thinks “it’s time to pick up from these abandoned vote-bank  for election, this would open up area of political confrontration,’’ feel Bangladesh political observers.Khaleda-Zia
Interestingly, League has changed a bit as none of party cardres belong to a liberal mind set, Hasina has changed her approach a bit.She may not any more like calling left out Jammat and BNP forces fundamentalists, nor she responds to torture on minorities the way her party used to, feel  political leaders.

“But this wouldn’t bode well for her as far as India is concerned,’’ they warn her, adding “scripting a new roadmap may help or may not Hasina, but she should not kill the liberal face of the party,’’ feel a worried minority leader.
