Don turn Neta Mukhtar Ansari Buried Next To Mother At Kali Bagh Graveyard, In Ghazipur

GHAZIPUR/LUCKNOW  (UP): Gangster turn politician Mukhtar Ansari was laid to rest in Kalibagh cemetery of Ghazipur. Mukhtar’s brother Sigbatullah Ansari, Afzal Ansari and younger son Omar Ansari were present at the funeral.
Earlier, Mukhtar’s funeral procession was taken out from his residence to the burial ground with a massive crowd and heavy security arrangements.
His elder son Abbas could not attend the funeral because he could not get parole. His body was brought to his home town around midnight on Friday Thousands of his supporters were present at Mukhtar’s funeral. The police did not allow the supporters to enter the cemetery. Only Mukhtar’s family got entry inside the cemetery. There was a lot of chaos during Mukhtar’s funeral. A large number of people were pushing with the police and also shouting slogans.
Gangster Mukhtar Ansari on Saturday was buried next to his mother at the Kali Bagh graveyard in Ghazipur’s Mohammadabad amid a sea of supporters and heavy security. His son, Umar Ansari and brother, Afzal Ansar, were present at the funeral.
Jailed Mukhtar Ansari on Thursday passed away at the Banda Medical College in Uttar Pradesh following a cardiac arrest. The former Samajwadi Party (SP) leader was taken to the hospital earlier after his health deteriorated, his lawyer said. The news of Ansari’s death came amid allegations by the gangster’s family that he was poisoned in jail. Ansari was admitted to the ICU at a hospital in Banda early Tuesday with a complaint of abdominal pain. His brother and Ghazipur MP Afzal Ansari, who reached the hospital, alleged that he was given poison in jail.

As a sea of people turned up for gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari’s burial at his ancestral residence in Ghazipur’s Mehmoodabad amid tight security, Uttar Police kept a strict vigil to see if his wife and lady don, Afsa Ansari, will turn up to bid her final adieu to her deceased husband. However, Afsa, who has been absconding from the police since 2022, was not seen at the funeral.

The late gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari’s brother Afzal Ansari claimed that Mukhtar was “killed and removed out of the way”.“When the time comes, we will give strong proof that he was killed with poison… To save some criminals, the whole government and its machinery have done a huge conspiracy,” Afzal told news agency ANI.
Afzal further said, “When we reached the hospital, we were allowed to meet with difficulty, only for 5 minutes… During the 5-minute meeting, Mukhtar Ansari said that he had been poisoned and because of that he had fainted. He said that he was in extreme pain. He said that he had fainted and shifted to the hospital in that condition…”
Meanwhile,Mukhtar’s postmortem late on Friday confirmed that he died of cardiac arrest, PTI reported citing hospital sources. The autopsy was conducted by a panel of five doctors, it added. Following the examination, Mukhtar’s mortal remains were handed over to his younger son, Umar Ansari.
Meanwhile, a magisterial inquiry was ordered as opposition parties raised questioned over the gangster-politician’s death amid allegations by his family that he was ‘slow poisoned’ in Banda jail. Banda Chief Judicial Magistrate Bhagwan Das Gupta appointed Addition CJM Garima Singh as the investigating officer and asked her to submit the probe report within a month.
It was November 2005 when was returning home after inaugurating a cricket tournament. As he reached a narrow bridge in Ghazipur’s Bhawarkol, the BJP leader’s cavalcade was ambushed and assailants armed with AK-47 assault rifles opened fire on them, killing Rai.
According to the FIR, gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari and his brother Afzal Ansari, who had lost assembly election to Rai in Mohammadabad seat, were named main conspirators.
Nineteen years later, Rai’s son Piyush says Ansari’s death is the Almighty’s verdict. Speaking to Reporters , Piyush said the state government would look into allegations that Ansari was poisoned in prison but “we are happy that the almighty has finally given His verdict”.
