Two apprehended in connection with acid attack on woman doctor in Delhi
NEW DELHI:Two persons were on Thursday nabbed in connection with acid attack on a woman doctor in Rajouri Garden area on Tuesday morning, police said here. According to sources, while one of those apprehended is a juvenile, two more persons have also been detained for questioning. However, there was no official word on it.
“Two people have been nabbed in connection of the acid attack. I cannot disclose their identities at this moment as we are ascertaining their role and profile. The case has definitely been cracked,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Pushpendra Kumar while hinting at possible involvement of two more people.
On Tuesday morning, two unidentified assailants threw acid on a 30-year-old woman doctor as they tried to snatch her bag.
When she resisted, the pillion rider threw an acid-like chemical on her and fled with her bag. The victim sustained burns in the incident and was rushed to the same hospital where she worked. From there, she has been referred to AIIMS, police said.
