No clean chit to Tharoor in Sunanda’s death case yet: Police

sunanda-24NEW DELHI: Sunanda Pushkar’s viscera report has further deepened the death mystery and given a new turn to the whole case. According to media reports, Police have not given clean chit to Shashi Tharoor in this case.
Now, after visera report, Delhi Police officers are waiting for the interpretation and inference of the doctors who conducted the autopsy. In the light of new developments, investigating officers are likely to focus on dozen injuries found on Sunanda’s body and possible foul play.
Once again, the possibility of foul play is gaining ground. The viscera report contradicts autopsy report. According to sources, the viscera report rules out presence of any poison in Sunanda’s body.
Further, there has been no trace of the anti-anxiety drug, Alprax, in Sunanda’s stomach at the time of death. Earlier, the autopsy report had concluded that Sunanda died of drug poisoning and had indicated the presence of Alprax. Sunanda had checked into the Leela Palace hotel in Chanakyapuri on 15 January, alone.
She was staying in a room on the third floor and was visibly depressed when she arrived at the hotel.
The hotel staff has reportedly told police that she had hardly eaten during her stay. Tharoor had checked into the hotel on January 16, when the couple shifted to a suite number 345. They were engaged in a night-long argument, investigators have found, and Sunanda went to sleep only around 6.30am on 17 January .
She did not order any food. Soon after (around 7am), Tharoor left to attend the AICC meet at Talkatora Stadium and found her dead upon his return.
