Yechury sides with Bengal, ignores clash with Kerala, Karat lobby

karat_yechuryKOLKATA: Bengal-Kerala clash seem inevitable in CPI(M) with party’s former general secretary Prakash Karat and present party leader Sitaram Yechury airing their opinions and actualizing them

Incidentally, Karat and Kerala lobby which opposed tooth and nail any track with Congress during recent Central Committee meeting, insisted that Bengal leaders must be reprimanded for violating partyline and Yechury insisting what he called a fight against `emerging Hitlers’ in Bengal to save democracy.

While there isn’t any ghost of Hitlers in Bengal,  the differences within party leaders is likely to weaken party units in Bengal and Kerala and “would reflect on party workers’ morale,’’ said a top party leader. And reacting to CPI(M) aggressive postures Trinamool leaders feel Left big brother is creating another wound which would hit CPI(M) badly.
