owaisi-03HYDERABAD: “India is my father’s country. Nobody can force me flee.” This was AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi’s response to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s comment that if BJP comes to power in the Telangana, Owaisi will have to flee.
“Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan did not flee Hyderabad. He was made ‘Raj Pramukh’ and when there was war with China, he offered his gold to India,” said Owaisi.  The MP said he would not be scared by such threats and propaganda. “This is only Yogi’s speech but the language and mentality is of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said. Owaisi said Adityanath should speak like a Chief Minister and uphold the dignity of the office he is holding.
He suggested that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister should first take care of his constituency where 150 children die of encephalitis every year. Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi’s younger brother Akbaruddin Owaisi has also reacted strongly to Adityanath’s threat, saying nobody can force them flee. “We are not the one who will flee. Our 1,000 generations will live here,” the AIMIM leader said at a public meeting.

Hours after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said he would have to “run away” if the BJP came to power in Telangana, Hyderabad lawmaker Asaduddin Owaisi delivered his retort. “India is my father’s country. Nobody can force me to leave it,” the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader said at a rally on Sunday.
“If BJP comes to power, I assure you Asaduddin Owaisi will have to run away from Telangana the same way the Nizam was forced to run away from Hyderabad,” Yogi Adityanath said, addressing an election meeting ahead of the December 7 polls to the 119-member Telangana assembly. Mr Owaisi’s party, which had won seven seats in the 2014 polls, enjoys considerable influence in the old quarters of Hyderabad. The party has also been described as “friendly” by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who seeking a second term in power.
The BJP is contesting the polls alone in the state where it had just won nine seats in 2014, as Mr Rao’s Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) didn’t warm up to its overtures. “It is my religious belief that Prophet Adam, when he descended to earth from paradise, came to India,” Mr Owaisi said.

Alleging that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister was ignorant about historical facts, he said: “Contrary to what Yogi Adityanath believes, Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan did not flee Hyderabad. He was made ‘Raj Pramukh’ and when there was war with China, he offered his gold to India.”
Yogi Adityanath had said that if the BJP was voted to power in Telangana, Asaduddin Owaisi would have to flee the state “the same way the Nizam was forced to run away from Hyderabad” Asserting that he would not be scared by “threats and propaganda,” Mr Owaisi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the “mentality” reflected in Yogi Adityanath’s speech. The Uttar Pradesh chief minister should take care of his constituency where, he said, there were 150 child deaths from encephalitis each year.

“Yogi Adityanath should uphold the dignity of the office he is holding and speak like a chief minister,” said he said. Asaduddin Owaisi’s younger brother Akbaruddin Owaisi backed his comments and added: “We are not the one who will flee. Our 1,000 generations will live here.
” Mr Owaisi had also reacted sharply to Yogi Adityanath ‘s recent statement that the Congress needs just the votes of Muslims,”You keep your Ali, for us Bajrang Bali will be enough,” the U P Chief Minister had reportedly said, targeting Congress leader Kamal Nath over a video in which he had been heard saying Muslims must vote en mass for Congress. Ali was a successor of the Prophet Muhammad. Mr Owaisi had remarked that the Chief Minister had “crossed all limits”.(With Agencies Inputs ).
