Mamata awaits for who takes Mukul in BJP, Left fears more migration
KOLKATA: Now as Puja wave wanes, Mukul Roy issue is likely to pick up if some top leader in BJP officially welcomes him in post-Diwali scenario. If this keeps Roy shrewdly awaiting for the windfall, his former leader and TMC leader Mamata Banerjee is also keeps watching who takes Roy in BJP! If top leaders take Roy in, it implies more defection from the party, or if it is done at state level, the impact would be less.
But amidst these ifs and buts Left Front big brother, CPI(M) fears to what extent Roy can engineer defections at the grassroots-level from ailing Left. Interestingly, the state CPI(M) leaders, some of them top leaders in party’s powerful bodies, though seems indifferent, but dubbed Roy’s move as “unwise.’’
However, the TMC which called a meeting on 25th is likely to react from top-level on the issue of Roy which is expected to end the mystery.Interestingly, State BJP leadership which not every easy with the prospect of Roy joining at a senior level, wants Roy should be welcomed at the state-level in a low-key ceremony.
But no-body knows which way things will take a turn, in case dissatisfied Roy launches his new party,’’ said political commentator.
