Won’t let any Jinnah evolve in JNU: Lawmaker Adityanath
GORAKHPUR: As the country continues to debate the nationalism issue amidst Jawaharlal Nehru University row, Bharartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogi Adityanath on Saturday stoked a controversy by saying, they won’t let JNU to produce any Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Speaking to media in his parliamentary constituency, the BJP MP said, “JNU me Jinna paida nahi hone denge, Agar hue to unhe dafnayenge. Hum deshdrohiyon ke like sakht hai.”
Adityanath’s comments come close on the heels of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Pardesh Kuldeep Varshney’s announcement of a reward of Rs 5 lakh for cutting off JNU Students union leader Kanhaiya Kumar’s tongue.
The BJP MP is not new to making controversial statements. Earlier too his comments have made huge furore and embarrassed the party.Varshnay had yesterday announced Rs 5 lakh prize money for cutting off the tongue of Kanhaiya Kumar who he had alleged was speaking against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi ever since he was released on bail.
Kumar who was arrested on February 12 on sedition charges was released from the Tihar jail on March 3 after the Delhi High Court granted him interim bail for six months.
