Voice of dissident pushes Left big brother deeper into cleft
KOLKATA: It has become a image crisis for the party, admitted a top CPI(M) leader after arriving from Delhi after attending Central Committee meeting. He was referring to Jagmati Sangwan’s vitriolic attack on pro-Congress lobby within Bengal CPI(M).
Top party insiders feel that Sangwan’s attack would only encourage the major Left parties within the Left Front, Revolutionary Socialist Party and Forward Bloc, stepping up anti-Congress lobby within Front. Insiders feel that already Biman Bose indicated how much pressure is being put by major Left partners and Central Committee forcing Bengal CPI(M) to give up any idea of inviting State Congress in rally next month on the issue of abnormal price rise.
“We cannot give up the idea of launching the campaign against price rise, while we can avoid going with Congress,’’ Biman Bose informed reporters.Incidentally, Jagmati Sangwan’s dissent would not have mattered much, it happened earlier and CPI(M) blotched them all by the dint of its brute organizational strength, with social media active now it’s different, feel many old-fashioned Left leaders.
Thus it would take a little more time for Yechury to eat it all up though Karat retreated for the time being, feel senior leaders in the Front.
