NEW DELHI : A Deputy Superintendent of Delhi’s Tihar Prison has been arrested on the charges of attempting to murder his daughter-in-law in Vasant Kunj, south Delhi.
Gyan Singh, 45, has been booked under section 498 (Enticing or taking away or detaining with criminal intent a married woman) and 307 (Attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The woman has been hospitalised with 65 per cent burn injuries.
“Victim’s brother alleged that Singh and his family tried to kill her and she suffered around 65 burn injuries. Police are interrogating victim’s in-law and further investigation is on,” police added.
