PM Modi asks Party MPs to highlight govt’s achievements
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked BJP MPs to campaign on the ongoing welfare schemes for people in view of his government completing two years of tenure at the Centre, later this month.
Minister of State of Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Pratap Rudy quoted the Prime minister having said after BJP Parliamentary Party meeting in New Delhi today that Mr Modi said people should be aware of such schemes which are pro-common man initiatives.
Mr Rudy said the Prime Minister maintained that the commitment that his government had made to the people, has been fulfilled. During the course of two years, the government has launched schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, MUDRA and Beti Bachao Beti Padaho to empower the people. The present government was sworn in on 26th of May 2014.
The BJP Parliamentary Party’s meeting was attended by the Union Ministers including Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu, party president Amit Shah and several BJP leaders.
Among the schemes that PM Modi wants to be highlighted are Mudra scheme, increased LPG coverage and electrification of villages.The Prime Minister maintained that the commitment that the government had made to the people has been fulfilled, as per PTI.The meeting was attended by top brass of the government and the party, including its chief Amit Shah.
The issue of VVIP chopper scam, over which the BJP has targeted Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, was also taken up at its parliamentary party meet and the Rajya Sabha will debate it tomorrow and the Lok Sabha on May 6, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy said after the meet
Briefing the media after the meeting, Rudy said, “The Prime Minister noted that the government as well as the Lok Sabha members will complete two years of their term.
Mudra scheme, ongoing electrification of 18,000 villages, bringing over 3 crore families under the LPG network and distribution of cheap LED lights were cited as major successes. He asked the members to take them to people”The BJP-led NDA government is set to complete two years soon.
