Kalam’s teacher pays tearful homage
DINDIGULA pall of gloom descended on Beschi College as news about the demise of former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam reached here. Paying tearful homage to his student, Rev. Fr. Ladislaus Chinnadurai, former physics teacher of Mr.Kalam expressed his grief. He said: “It is very sad news. I met him only 10 days ago here. I did not expect this to happen.
It is shocking. He is much younger to me. He could have lived longer. A pure vegetarian and a bachelor, he won the love and affection of all sections of people. We should thank the God who gave all of us such a wonderful person to this country, where Muslims, Christians and Hindus lived together. I pray to God for his soul to rest in peace….”
Later, Mr. Chinnadurai paid a floral tribute to a portrait of Dr. Kalam and participated in a special mass held in a church on the college campus.
