Govt. seeks clarifications on the recent decision on DA

83db5efab3e93657a8b7e89a73918af8_1389170471_lNEW DELHI : The Department of Personnel and Pensions(DoPT)  has issued a statement on a range of questions from various quarters, mostly seeking clarifications on the recent decision of the Union Government on grant of two per cent dearness allowance for the Central government employees and dearness relief to Central government pensioners or family pensioners.

In an office memorandum issued on Wednesday night the Department focused on five specific areas. It said the enhanced rates of dearness relief would benefit civilian Central government pensioners/family pensioners, the Armed forces pensioners, civilian pensioners paid out of the defence service estimates, All India Service pensioners and Railway pensioners/family pensioners.

The not covered are the Burma civilian pensioners/family pensioners and pensioners/families of displaced government pensioners from Pakistan, who are Indian Nationals but receiving pension on behalf of government of Pakistan and are in receipt of adhoc ex-Gratia allowance, central government employees who had drawn lump sum amount on absorption in a PSU/autonomous body and are in receipt of 1/3rd restored commuted portion of pension, pensioners who are in receipt of provisional pension in the pre-2016 pay scales/pay and CPF beneficiaries, their widows and eligible children who are in receipt of ex-gratia payment.

The Department said that in the case of retired Judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts, necessary orders will be issued by the Department of Justice separately.
