Government policies increased crisis of small newspapers: Says Chandola
SOMNATH( Gujarat) The National Council of the Association of Small and Medium Newspapers of India has strongly condemned the government’s policies of harassing and targeting small and medium newspapers published in the country.
This leading organization of small newspapers has said that this anti-media policies of the government are unacceptable. The organization has alleged that this is being done to small newspapers which are already facing extremely critical conditions due to various policies of the government.
Nationsl President of the OrganizationMr Keshav Dutt Chandola said that since the time of independence movement, small and medium newspapers have played an important role in the time of independence. They have played different roles. But today the situation has changed. Today these newspapers are the target of the government. The government needs their help. Mr Chandola said that despite the adverse circumstances, these newspapers are playing their role in bringing the citizens’ problems before the government. He said that there are many newspapers in the country which are facing huge financial crisis.
He said that their situation is becoming more serious due to the imposition of new advertising rules day by day. They should play a positive and helpful role with the government in this direction. Mr Chadola said that today newspapers are becoming victims of digital media and the arbitrariness of big newspapers, which has affected this category of newspapers. With the shift towards digital media, the situation of print media, especially small newspapers, has worsened. This sequence continues.
Gujarat unit president Mayur Boricha mentioned the problems of small newspapers among the members attending the council meeting. Meanwhile, the manager of Somnath Trust honored the officials present on the stage.
Presidents and officials of the units of the states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand etc. participated in the meeting and informed about the problems faced by the newspapers/magazines published from their respective states and their solutions. Placed a demand to get it done.
In the meeting CBC and RNI Criticizing the working style of I., it was said that such rules are being imposed by them every day due to which the growth rate of small and medium class is getting affected. Publishers are getting worried. In the conference, the working style of the Information and Public Relations Department in many states was criticized. He was also accused of harassing.
After the information given by the members who participated from many states, National President Mr Chandola said that the units of the association should send the problems of their respective states in writing so that efforts can be made to get them resolved by sending them to the concerned department or ministry. Could.
National General Secretary Shankar Katira, National Secretaries Dr. Anant Sharma and Praveen Patil, President of Uttar Pradesh State Unit and members of Press Council of India Shyam Singh Panwar, Gulab Singh Bhati, Deepak Bhai Thakkar addressed and raised the problems of newspapers. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel could not attend the meeting due to his busy schedule. He sent a letter conveying his best wishes for the successful organization of the meeting. In the meeting, publishers of many newspapers published from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Karnataka, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan raised many questions related to the problems of small newspapers.
