Deepika is So Beautiful, I’d Wait a Lifetime For Her: Ranveer Singh
MUMBAI: Ranveer and Deepika got delayed while reaching the venue to launch Bajirao Mastani‘s first song Gajanana. They apologised to the audience, and Ranveer said: “I was told that people have been waiting since 9 am for us. But Deepika is so beautiful I would wait a lifetime for her”
Actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone on September 15 launched the first song Gajanana from this year’s most awaited movie, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani.
The song, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, was sung by Sukhvinder Singh and choreographed by Vaibhabi Merchant. Ranveer and Deepika did the maha aarti at the launch.
“During Ganapati Visarjan, I always take part in the Ganapati song and dance. I have got into random processions even after becoming an actor. Vaibhavi calls me ‘visarjan specialist’,” Ranveer said.
Ranveer and Deepika got delayed in reaching the venue. They apologised to the audience, as Ranveer said in a cheerful mood: “I was told that people have been waiting since 9 am for us. But Deepika is so beautiful I would wait a lifetime for her.”
In reply, Deepika recalled that Mr Bhansali used to get upset when the actors came late to the film set. Of Bajirao Mastani box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale, Ranveer and Deepika said they are not disturbed.
The Piku actress said: “I don’t understand the business perspective. I think there is a place for both films. Our job is to work just as an actor not to get into all this.” Ranveer’s comment was shorter and crisp: “I am an actor and can understand only acting. Can’t say anything on clash.”
Bajirao Mastani narrates the story of Maratha general Peshwa Bajirao I, and his second wife Mastani, played by the Ranveer and Deepika. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra as Bajirao I’s first wife, Kashi Bai. The film is scheduled to release on December 18.
