Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight trailer wows,’ BEATS ‘Baahubali 2’
MUMBAI: Salman Khan is all set to storm theatre with his latest Eid offering. Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan releases on June 23 this year. And guess what, even before its release, it has created a new record.
The Salman starrer has beaten SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali and will now release in the maximum number of screens ever, for any Indian film. The Prabhas starrer had released to around 9000 screens worldwide, with 6500 of it being in India. It had 1100 screens in US, 180 in Canada.
Now, Salman’s Tubelight will release across 9500-10000 screens worldwide. The domestic capping of screens for Tubelight too remains the same. But the film releases in around 330 screens in US, 215 screens in UK alone. It will also be released in over 50 countries at the same time. so the international revenue for Tubelight is expected to be really high.
The film which is set in the backdrop of 1962 Indo-Sino war has Salman playing Laxman Singh Bisht whereas brother Sohail Khan will be seen as Bharat Singh Bisht. Chinese actress Zhu Zhu will be making her big screen debut in the film. Now, much ahead of its release, the film has already beaten S S Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘Baahubali 2’. how? Well, according to noted trade analyst Ramesh Bala, ‘Tubelight’ is eying as many as 10, 000 screens worldwide where as the former Prabhas starrer was released in 9000 screens worldwide.
Isn’t the number getting bigger and better already for this Salman outing? The film is helmed by Kabir Khan and is releasing on June 23, 2017.
