PM welcomes French President Francois Hollande
NEW DELHI : French President Francois Hollande landed in Chandigarh on Sunday afternoon in the fisrt leg of his 3-day India visit. Kaptan Singh Solanki, the governor of Punjab and Haryana, received him at the Chandigarh airport. During his stay, Hollande will be the chief guest at Republic Day Parade on Tuesday.
Hollande will be accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday. Later, he will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi at the Hyderabad House, which will be followed by signing of agreements in various key sectors.
Prime Minister Modi and the French President are expected to address a CEOs forum and India-French Business Summit in Chandigarh, thereafter the visiting dignitary will depart for New Delhi.
President Hollande will be joined by Prime Minister Modi during sightseeing to tourist spots Rock Garden, Capitol Complex, Government Museum and Art gallery in Chandigarh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was honoured and delighted to welcome French President Francois Hollande as the chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations.”A warm welcome to French President @fhollande.

We will build on the ground covered during our previous interactions,” he added.This is the fifth time a French President is visiting India as the chief guest for the Republic Day parade.
