‘Debate and discussion soul of parliament,’ says PM
NEW DELHI: The Winter session of Parliament beginning Thursday is expected to be a stormy affair, with the opposition set to raise the ‘intolerance’ issue and press for a resolution to condemn it.
Indicating government’s willingness to debate all issues in Parliament during the Winter session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said there cannot be a bigger platform for dialogue than the floor of the House.
The Prime Minister also expressed confidence that the session would witness best thoughts, best discussion and best innovative ideas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Parliament is the best place for constructive debate and expressed confidence that all MPs will leave no stone unturned to match upto the expectations of the people.
Talking to media outside Parliament before the beginning of Winter session, Mr Modi said, discussion, debate and conversation is the soul of Parliament. The Prime Minister said, he expects Parliament to shine with bestn thoughts, best discussions and best innovative ideas during the session.
He said, yesterday he had a fruitful meeting with leaders of all parties and they have agreed for debate in the house. Mr Modi said, Constitution is a ray of Hope and Hope means harmony, opportunity, people’s participation and equality.
He said, on this day in 1949 the Constitution was adopted and the govt has decided to celebrate it as Constitution day.
