Ghulam Ali doesn’t want to be used for political mileage
NEW DELHI: Veteran Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali from Pakistan has reportedly cancelled all his future concerts in India. He is apparently hurt because he feels he is being used for political mileage.
A report in CNN-IBN suggests that the singer from across the border doesn’t want to engage with India until the issues regarding visits made by Pakistani artists are resolved.
Ghulam Ali had made headlines last month after his show at Mumbai’s Shanmukhananda Hall was cancelled after Shiv Sena Chief Udhav Thackeray had met the organisers and threatened to disrupt the show if it wasn’t called off.
The Shiv Sena believed India shouldn’t entertain Pakistani artists until the neighbouring country stopped sponsoring terror attacks on Indians.
Soon after the hullabaloo, Ali was invited by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to visit Delhi and perform at a concert in the capital. One of his concerts was scheduled on November 8, followed by one in Lucknow on December 3.
