This time actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has strongly criticized the display of “The Last Supper” in the opening ceremony of Paris Olympics. Kangana called it very sexualized and reprehensible. She said that the leftists have taken over the Olympic Games.
Posting pictures of the opening ceremony of the Peri Olympic Games in her Instagram post, Kangana Ranaut said that Paris Olympics is being criticized for involving a child in a hyper-sexualized, blasphemous presentation of ‘The Last Supper’. Actress Kangana criticised the act on her official Instagram account, calling it a “highly erotic” and “blasphemous version of The Last Supper”, one of the world’s most famous artworks depicting Jesus’ last meal with his followers in Jerusalem before his crucifixion. Paris Olympics faces criticism on social media for drag act featuring 18 performers, including three famous Drag Race France queens.
BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has reacted sharply to the drag queen-themed “The Last Supper” performed during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, an apparent parody of “The Last Supper”, a mural of Jesus and his followers by Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci. In fact, ‘The Last Supper’ was staged at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. The Last Supper is said to be the last supper of Jesus Christ, in which he dines with some of his beloved 12 disciples. In the 15th century, the great painter Leonardo da Vinci made a painting with the same name. This painting is made on the wall of a church in the city of Milan.
During the staging of ‘The Last Supper’ at the Paris Olympics, a naked man painted in blue was presented as Jesus Christ. There was also a girl in this staging. Kangana Ranaut has commented on the participation of children in such staging. She writes in her social media post- ‘This naked man has been shown as Jesus Christ in the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.’
The BJP MP from Mandi Lok Sabha has shared another picture, in which a woman is seen standing with her own severed neck in her hands. Kangana writes on this- ‘Is this how France welcomed the Olympics?’ Kangana wrote – ‘Everything in the
‘ The event began with a group sitting at a table, which included several drag queens, reminiscent of the Last Supper, it is said that Jesus had his last meal with his apostles before being crucified. The event was set to music by gay activist DJ Barbara Buch, who sat in the middle with a silver headdress resembling a halo. This artistic presentation created an uproar on social media. Billionaire Elon Musk was among those who strongly criticized the performance, calling it “extremely insulting to Christians”. Actress and BJP MP Ranaut also shared a collage of pictures from the Olympic opening ceremony. In this, she wrote that,
“The opening ceremony of the Olympics was to encourage homosexuality. I am not against homosexuality, but I do not understand what the Olympics have to do with any kind of sexual behavior. She questions … Why is this global event that celebrates human excellence overshadowed by discussions of sex? Why is sex not allowed to remain limited to privacy? What is the need to give it a national identity? This is strange.” She clarifies – ‘I am not against homosexuality, but it is beyond my understanding what the Olympic Games have to do with sexuality? Why can’t sexuality be limited only to our bedrooms?
Why should it be a national identity. Many reactions to Ranaut’s comments also said that this performance seemed to be an insult to Christians. Elon Musk also reacted to this. He described this performance as “extremely insulting to Christians”. However, neither any organizer of the Olympics, nor any artist has said so far that “The Last Supper” was adapted in this performance.
What is ‘The Last Supper’
‘The Last Supper’ is a painting made by the famous Italian painter Leonardo da Vinci in the 15th century. This picture is made on a wall in the Santa Maria del Grazie Church in the city of Milan. It is said that it depicts the last holy supper of Jesus Christ. In this, symbolically the Christian society is united with Jesus. After the supper, Jesus was betrayed and arrested. He was later crucified. It is one of the most famous and most studied artworks in the world.
