Iran rejects reports of IAEA office in Tehran
Tehran: The Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) has dismissed reports that the UN nuclear watchdog — International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) — intended to set up a temporary office in Tehran.
“So far, no such a thing has been brought up in the talks ( between Iran and the IAEA),” reported Xinhua Sunday citing AEOI spokesperson Behrouz Kamalvandi. The UN nuclear agency has never requested to open an office in Iran, Kamalvandi said.
Earlier Sunday, some Western media outlets reported that the IAEA was considering a Tehran office to verify effective implementation of an nuclear deal reached between Iran and some world powers in November.
