What’s next? PM Modi to interact with CMs on Monday
NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with all Chief Ministers on Monday to discuss the next stage in the exit from the nationwide lockdown enforced to contain coronavirus outbreak.
P M is also expected to discuss the next stage in the exit from the nationwide lockdown and will take feedback from states on further easing restrictions on economic activities. According to reports, the Prime Minister will review India’s progress in containing coronavirus disease while gradually restarting economic activities in a phased manner.
The meeting will be held in two phases.The first phase will start at 3 p.m. and go on till 5.30 p.m. Sources say, there will be a break of 30 minutes after that and the meeting will resume at 6 p.m. and is expected to go on till 8 p.m.
This will be the fifth meeting of the PM Modi with the Chief Ministers since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
“PM Modi to hold the 5th meeting via video-conference with state Chief Ministers tomorrow (Monday) afternoon at 3 p.m.,” PMO India tweeted earlier in the day. Sources said the focus of the meeting will be on further increasing economic activities and on tackling the pandemic in containment zones as the lockdown 3.0 is to end on May 17.
The announcement comes after Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba chaired a meeting with Chief Secretaries and Health Secretaries of all states/Union Territories to review their status of novel coronavirus or Covid-19 management.
