WB : BJP State leadership gets into kid scam muddle
KOLKATA: BJP Bengal leadership gets into state-wide scam of child smuggling as some of their North Bengal women leaders, Juhi Chowdhury and Chandana Chakraborty who were however axed from the party to save the lost image.
Interestingly, both Chowdhury and Chakraborty run a home which, according to CID `soled at least 70 kids’ about which however investigative agency could not elaborate much till now.
A two-member CID team picked up Chowdhury from North Bengal hiding whence she “with the advice and help of another state BJP leader (?) was planning to escape to Nepal.’’Loss of image was so much that state BJP president had to axe them immediately,’’ regretted a state BJP leader.
Incidentally, name of BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Rupa Ganguly also appeared in the case, and pushed to the mouth of disaster, Dilip Ghosh removed both tainted ladies from their posts with Juhi’s father who also was in top party post in North Bengal.
Recently state police intelligence busted a state-wide racket which promoted sale of kids to clients whose credentials and intentions are not clear yet. And Juhi Chowdhury and Chandana Chakraborty were one the involved ladies who were alleged to have been promoting the racket from North Bengal.
While CID investigation and after being picked up by them, Juhi spoke about a state and central BJP leader Kailash Bijoyborgio being involved in the racket, the scam-tainted former leaders made the scam glaring at the state of apologetic state president Dilip Ghosh.
As Ghosh axing them from party posts, spoke in a rather soft way, though sources in state leadership said he eventually had to remove them as party’s central leaders asked him to.Incidentally, the arrest of BJP leaders sent a message across the state that politicians’ are only interested about “making money no matter how criminal and wrong way.’’
This was message to poor who would give birth to kids but will sale them for money, it’s profiteering no matter how inhuman it would look to us,’’ said a politician from the Rightists’ camp, though there isn’t a great political hue and cry among the state politicians on the issue yet.
If CID can unfurl the racket, people hope it would open up a Pandora box.
