Things changing after India highlighted Baloch plight, says Naela Quadri
NEW DELHI : Baloch nationalist leader Naela Quadri Baloch has said, things are changing rapidly at the international level since Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the plight of the people of troubled Balochistan province of Pakistan.
Talking to reporters after arriving in New Delhi yesterday, Prof. Baloch expressed gratitude to Mr Modi and External Affairs Minister Shushma Swaraj for raising their voices on the issue. She said, she is looking forward to meeting with a number of political leaders to garner support.
Prof. Baloch will address a number of seminars and meetings during her one week stay in India. Several Baloch leaders from Pakistan and other countries have started visiting New Delhi since Mr Modi highlighted the issue in his Independence Day speech.
Another prominent exiled Baloch leader Brahamdagh Bugti had approached the Indian Embassy in Geneva seeking asylum in India last month.
