MUMBAI: Trust Shah Rukh Khan to always do it differently. Time and again, SRK has come out as a winner when it comes to his marketing strategies and business deals. With Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, SRK has set another record. The music rights of the Rohit Shetty directorial has been reportedly sold at a whopping amount to Sony. Talking to a leading daily, Red Chillies officials confirmed the news without giving out the exact price.
We hear that Red Chillies Entertainment, SRK’s production house which is producing Dilwale has already signed a deal with Sony and has sold the music rights for over Rs 19 crore – which is possibly the highest ever given for any Bollywood film. SRK, whose last few films have been huge money spinners at the box office had shattered all pre-existing records with his previous film with Rohit.
Chennai Express had the biggest opening and also turned out to be the biggest blockbuster, beating Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots. While Rohit and SRK are teaming up yet again for their Christmas release this year, anticipation about the film has gone notches up. Also starring Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in leading roles, Dilwale has definitely turned heads with this deal.
Will history repeat itself? Will Dilwale again bring a tsunami at the box office like Chennai Express? Will it overtake Aamir’s PK record? That only time will tell.
