Seven injured in Srinagar grenade attacks
SRINAGAR : Four CRPF jawans and three civilians, including a woman, were injured in two grenade attacks in Srinagar on Saturday. “All injured are stable,” said an official.
According to police official all the injured suffered splinter wounds. One woman was also among the injured. “Three paramilitary men who sustained splinter injuries were shifted to a hospital,” said an official.
Militants lobbed a grenade at a structure housing CRPF’s 82 Battalion at Fateh Kadal in the afternoon. The attack happened in the same area where a youth was buried in the morning.
The youth came under the wheels of the CRPF vehicle that was negotiating its way through the protesters hurling stones at it outside the mosque after Friday prayers. The area remained tense all day.

The paramilitary force was deployed to maintain law and order in the area. Another CRPF jawan was injured in the evening when militants hurled a grenade near Budshah Bridge near Maisuma Lal chowk in Srinagar. A CRPF vehicle was the target of the militants.
Meanwhile, special police officer (SPO), Aqib Wagay, who was injured critically after being fired upon by militants at Puchal area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district last week, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday evening.
