Salman Khan Returns Home After Getting Bail in Blackbuck Poaching Case
JODHPUR/ MUMBAI : Superstar Salman Khan on Saturday walked out the Jodhpur jail and went straight to his Mu mbai residence after a sessions court granted him bail in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case in which he was given a five-year prison sentence.Khan’s “Dabangg” co-actor Sonu Sood tweeted, “A Good deed is the best Prayer. Welcome brother Salman Khan.”
Fans waiting outside cheered as Salman Khan emerged from the jail, wearing a black t-shirt and a cap, with his bodyguard Shera waiting to escort him. Salman Khan directly went to the Jodhpur airport from jail, from where he took a chartered flight, back home to Mumbai.
Immediately after his release, 52-year-old Khan, who spent two nights in the jail, was driven under police escort to the Jodhpur airport from where he was flown to Mumbai in a special plan.
As soon as he reached his residence in Bandra, the Galaxy Apartments, he met his family who were waiting with bated breath and then came out on the balcony to greet and wave at thousands of frantic fans and supporters who erupted in joy at the sight of Khan wearing a smile.
Khan was allowed to leave the jail after the prison authorities received the bail documents, a police official said. The actor’s long-time bodyguard Shera accompanied him throughout the journey along with Khan’s sisters, Arpita and Alvira.
Hundreds of the actor’s fans, who gathered outside the Jodhpur Central Jail, burst fire crackers and sang songs from his films as he walked out of the prison. The police had made tight security arrangements.
The judge asked the actor to appear before the court after a month on May 7 when it will hear his plea for suspension of sentence. He also directed Khan not to leave the country without the court’s permission.
Meanwhile, the Bishnoi community, which reveres the blackbuck, has decided to move the Rajasthan High Court challenging the bail granted to Khan, according to Ram Niwas, the secretary of the Bishnoi Tiger Force. ( With Agency Inputs ).
