RSTV Crosses 5 Millpom Subscribers On You tube..
NEW DELHI : Rajya Sabha Television’s YouTube channel crossed the 5 million (50 lakh) mark in terms of subscribers today, emerging as one of the fastest expanding channels on YouTube in the news space, leaving several other channels behind.
Rajya Sabha Television has added a million (10 lakh) organic subscribers in just over 10 months. RSTV had hit the 4 million mark earlier this year, on January 2, 2020.
Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairman Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu took to Twitter to compliment the channel on its new milestone.
In a tweet Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu said “Glad to know that RSTV today reached another landmark of 5 million YouTube subscribers. Only a few other channels have this distinction. I compliment the channel management and all the editorial and technical professionals of the channel. #RSTV
#RSTV reached this landmark by acquiring 4.5 million YouTube subscribers during the last 3 years. Wish the channel more laurels.“
In 2020, viewers have spent over 16.6 million hours watching RSTV content online. This shows that there is space and hunger to consume accurate, fact-based news programming related to law making, parliament, economic development, and major national and international events.
Besides live events, news bulletins and content about constitutional and parliamentary procedures continue to be popular with the viewers.Over the last three years, RSTV’s YouTube channel has grown at a phenomenal pace. It had a subscriber base of less than 4.5 lakh on August 10, 2017 .
With over 5 million YouTube subscribers as on October 14, Rajya Sabha Television’s YouTube channel is far ahead of many other mainstream news channels in India, including India Today (4.08 million), DD News (3.24 million), Times Now (1.93 million), Republic World (3.82 million), CNN News18 (1.68 million), News Nation (2.74 million), CNBC Awaaz (1.84 million), Lok Sabha TV (0.80 million) and CNBC-TV18 (0.65 million).
