Rahul fit to be PM, says Lalu Yadav
The former Bihar Chief Minister, Lalu Prasad, said on Tuesday that he would go along if Rahul Gandhi was declared prime ministerial candidate by the UPA but he preferred that the PM candidate be decided after elections.
“Let the Congress decide who will be their candidate. Who will be CM or PM should be decided after polls,” he said. To a question whether he would back Mr. Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate, he said “What does he lack? Rahul Gandhi is a youth leader, he is fit to be PM.”
Speaking to the media in Hazaribagh and Koderma districts, Mr Prasad continued his attack on the BJP. “I did not let L.K. Advani’s rath enter Bihar and now, I will rein in [Narendra] Modi’s rath of communal politics.” Mr. Prasad said he planned to visit riot victims in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh and travel widely all over the country to oppose “communal forces.”
