VARANASI: Tamil Nadu’s chief electoral officer Praveen Kumar is being sent as a special observer by the Election Commission for 12 May poll in Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, official sources said on Friday.
Kumar would keep a close watch on the electoral process in the high-pitched electoral battle in Varanasi, where Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi faces Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal and Congress’s Ajay Rai as well as candidates of the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party.
