PM Narendra Modi Unveils World’s Tallest Statue Of Lord Rama In South Goa

CANACONA  ( GOA): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled a 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Rama at the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Goa, on the occasion of the ‘Sardha Panchashatamanotsava’, the 550th-year celebration of the Math.
The structure was crafted by celebrated sculptor Ram Sutar, and organisers have described it as the world’s tallest statue of Lord Rama. Prime Minister Modi also offered prayers at the mutt on the auspicious occasion. He will also release the special postal stamp and a commemorative coin on the occasion. Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Union minister Shripad Naik and the entire state cabinet attended the ceremony.
Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math is the first Gowd Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava Math. It follows the Dvaita order, a system established by Jagadguru Madhvacharya in the 13th century AD. The Math is headquartered in Partagali, a small town in South Goa, on the banks of the river Kushavati, according to an official release. Goa Public Works Department minister Digambar Kamat said the mutt, serving as a spiritual centre for ages, has been completely refurbished and given a modern look. Several programmes have been scheduled from November 27 to December 7 to mark the 550 years of the mutt tradition.
When the society unites nad each sector stands together, then the country makes a big leap and nobody can stop it said prime mister Narendra Modi while addressing the devotes in South Goa on Friday evening.
He was addressing the devotees after unveiling the 77 feet Bronze Statue of  Lord Ram at the picturesque village ot Partagali in South Goa. The 77 feet bronze statue of Lord ram has been put up at  Partagali, Canacona on the occasion of 550 th anniversary of Shree Saunsthan Gokarn Partagali Math in Canacona taluka in South Goa. Modi said the mutt a writing a new chapter. “When an institution is built on truth and service, it does not waver with the changes of time; rather, it gives society the strength to stand firm,” he said. I was blessed with the opportunity to attend the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple, and today I am fortunate to be present for the auspicious occasion of unveiling this statue,” he added.
Despite facing numerous challenges over the centuries, Goa has preserved its heritage and gradually strengthened it. There were periods when local temples, traditions, and even language were under threat, but these pressures only deepened the resolve of the community and reinforced its cultural identity, said Prime minister Narendra Modi  Praising the mutt’s legacy, Modi remarked that the institution has survived more than five centuries of upheavals and still stands as a symbol of continuity.
