PM Modi meets all three service chiefs, takes stock of situation

NEW DELHI:  In the wake of growing tension between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi again met the chiefs of the three services on Friday after a gap of just a few days, while this week the tension between India and Pakistan has reached its worst level in three decades.
On Wednesday, India carried out air strikes on Pakistani targets under Operation Sindoor, which it said were “terrorist structures”, this attack was done in response to the deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir two weeks ago.
The Defense Minister, National Security Advisor, and Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) were also present in the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence. Experts say that this meeting was not just a formal meeting. It was a high-level meeting in which serious discussions were held on the current security situation. In the meeting, Prime Minister Modi took complete information from the Army Chief and gave necessary guidelines for the future.
Earlier, in the press briefing of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Army on Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army informed that the Pakistani Army tried to target the military infrastructure at midnight. The Pakistani Army also fired with heavy weapons on the Line of Control. India has given a befitting reply to the Pakistani attack.
Meanwhile, 129 flights have been cancelled from Delhi Airport, along with 9 international flights. Along with this, extreme vigilance is being maintained in the border areas of the country. The Indian Army is alert and is ready to give a befitting reply to every audacity from Pakistan. After the Pahalgam attack, India started the operation to teach a lesson to the Pakistani Army and the terrorists supported by it. Today is the third day of this operation. With each passing day, the Indian Army is not only repeating its valor, but is also becoming a nightmare for the enemy.
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian armed forces have successfully foiled a massive drone and missile attack by Pakistan to target several military stations in northern and western India, including Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur, according to Headquarters Integrated Defense Staff. India targeted Pakistan’s air defense systems in several cities on Thursday morning, destroying one in Lahore. Since then, the Pakistani army has been shelling the Line of Control and the international border in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan.
Officials said both the Indian Army and the Air Force have deployed missile systems along the Pakistan border. The army said, “Pakistan Armed Forces carried out multiple attacks using drones and other weapons across the entire western border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May. Pak troops also carried out multiple ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The drone attacks were effectively thwarted and the CFVs were given a befitting reply.
The Center has also asked all the states to give emergency procurement rights to the heads of civil defense authorities so that they can make necessary purchases in an emergency situation.According to the information received, the central government has issued a notification saying that if the Army Chief wants, he can call the officers and soldiers of the Territorial Army (TA). TA is a paramilitary force, which assists the army when needed. India is in action mode after the Pahalgam attack. Super air defense missiles have been deployed on the border amid rounds of meetings and trade and visa services with Pakistan have been banned.
The tension between India and Pakistan after “Operation Sindoor” has become a topic of discussion internationally. The increasing tension from Pakistan The aggression has further strained the relations between the two countries. At such a time, this meeting indicates that India is completely serious about its national security interests and is ready to deal with any threat.
