Pakistan targets 12 border posts in Jammu ceasefire violation
SRINAGAR: Pakistani troops violated ceasefire and resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling on 12 border out posts along International Border in Jammu district on Tuesday.
The Border Security Force noticed suspicious movements near a border outpost in Kanachak area of the Jammu district during the night, a police officer told to a News Agency. “BSF fired to thwart any possible infiltration attempt after which it was quiet till morning.
“But at 6.05 am, Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at the BSF border outpost,” he added.BSF retaliated effectively and heavy firing exchanges are underway.
On Monday, the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Rangers violated ceasefire at four places on the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border.
Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire four time on 29 and 30 of July along the LoC.There have been three incidents of sniper attacks by Pakistani troops along the LoC in July. An Army jawan was killed in Poonch and two BSF jawans were killed in similar incidents along the LoC in Kashmir Valley.
There have been 18 ceasefire violations along the Indo-Pak border in July in which four persons, including three jawans, were killed and 14 others injured.
