NTPC dispenses PPE kit to shut out coronavirus

 

rksingh-k3kF--621x414@LiveMintPATNA: NTPC, a Maharatna PSU, is dispensing personal protective equipment (PPE) kit to Bihar Government in order to protect and extend all required assistance to the civilian authorities to fight coronavirus outbreak amid national lockdown,
Ensuring a proper care at various quarantine facilities in Bihar, NTPC has doled out hundreds of PPE Kit. Lauding the move, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Power RK Singh, said, “At the time of crisis, NTPC is proactively playing its role and helping the nation towards protection from COVID-19 virus and ensuring and safeguarding civilians for a precise fortification with this personal protective equipment kit.
Singh cautioned the State Government of Bihar to be more attentive as there were a large number of migrants returning back to the state from various corners of the country and they might be potential carrier of coronovirus. “The real challenge is yet to be met and all of us need to be very vigilant and alert, in particular old age citizens and children,” Singh added.
S Narendra, Regional Executive Director (East-1) informed that hundred litres of hand sanitizers and over 10,000 three layer masks have been handed over district authorities.
The Government both at the Central and state level have announced several relief measures to support the citizens in the current testing times. The financial burden to manage the current health crisis is huge and several Indian State Governments have either setup dedicated relief funds to accept donations for Covid-19 or are accepting donations in the existing Chief Minister’s Relief fund from both corporates and individuals.
NTPC, a Maharatna PSU, is country’s largest energy conglomerate to accelerate power development and is established as the dominant power major with presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. To strengthen its core business, the corporation has diversified into the fields of consultancy, power trading, training of power professionals, rural electrification, ash utilisation and coal mining as well.
