NADA panel clears Narsingh Yadav of doping charges, says grappler is victim of sabotage

515082-narsinghNEW DELHI: The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on Monday cleared Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav of the doping charges.In its final verdict, the panel agreed to Yadav’s allegations that he was a victim of sabotage and also that there was a conspiracy to dent his chances for the prestigious event.

While Narsingh’s participation in upcoming Rio Olympics is not yet sure, the panel said that the 74-kg category grappler was unaware of the banned substance which was found in his sample.

The panel is yet to reveal the name of people behind this conspiracy. It also remains unclear if the culprit has been identified.Earlier, Narsingh’s hopes of competing in the Olympics had faded further on Wednesday after the wrestler failed a second dope test, which was conducted on him on July 5.

Narsingh’s chances of participating in the Olympics came under a cloud when he returned a positive result for a dope test conducted by the NADA on June 25.country in the men’s 74kg freestyle category ahead of two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, was handed a provisional suspension.
