Mukul accuses Mamata of running TMC as company, CM blames it on zealously
KOKATA: In a first ever rally after joining BJP,Mukul Roy ridiculed TMC leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as enjoying foreign tours at the cost of people dying in dengue, unfazed Banerjee slammed back saying “one needs to broaden his mind to realize the mission of Bengal.’’
While Mukul accused Mamata in a well-attended BJP rally in the city, Banerjee replied back without naming Roy while inaugurating Film Festival today. In the first BJP rally Mukul rolled out attacks on Mamata whom he said: “Running the TMC as private company, giving maximum mileage her nephew Abhishek and Biswabanga happens to be his firm while State Government rans it as its own.’’
He also picked up a foreign tours much like Opposition in Bengal blamed Jyoti Basu for his annual England tour.I went to United Nations to receive awards for Bengal…I am now going to England to visit Sister Nevedita’s home to pay our homage to her. It would only fetch glory for Bengal,’’ Banerjee told an audience as she began the Calcutta Film Festival.
She ridiculed Mukul, BJP and her critics as zealous. Responding to Mukul’s charges that her foreign tours fetched no investments, again without naming him she said: “We will have industries, we will see how farmers plough their lands and we will see how our state grows.’’
On his accusation she’s enjoying festivities at the cost of people dying in dengue, she said: “There are people who have narrow mind set, it’s better we leave them behind and go ahead with constructive ways.’’
Incidentally, Banerjee who never bothered to name Mukul on ground it would add to his importance, today “found a little cornered as she reacted to Roy’s threat that he would divulge more in days to come,’’ feel political obsevers here.
