MP Kangana Ranaut Slapped by CISF Constable at Chandigarh Airport

CHANDIGRAH: Kangana Ranaut, Bollywood actor and BJP’s MP-elect from Mandi, was allegedly slapped by a CISF official at Chandigarh Airport while she was boarding a flight to Delhi.
This has happened due to her comments on the farmers’ protest. She claimed that the woman constable argued with her in the frisking area and hit her on the face. The woman constable, Kulvinder Kaur, has been detained, and a probe panel has been set up to investigate the incident.
According to Ranaut, when she was proceeding to the boarding point after the security check, the CISF woman official, Kulwinder Kaur, posted at the frisking area, allegedly argued with her and slapped her. Kangana’s controversial statement about women in Punjab during the farmers’ agitation is believed to be the provocation behind the alleged slapping, according to sources.
“As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff came from the side, hit me on my face and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports farmers’ protest,” the MP-elect said.”I am safe but I am concerned about the terrorism and extremism that is increasing in Punjab…” she added.
The constable, Kulwinder Kaur, has been suspended with immediate effect following the incident and an FIR has been filed against her, CISF officials said. A probe panel has been set up to investigate Kangana’s claim. In a video message posted on X after the incident, Ranaut said that the constable told her that she supports the farmers’ protest. The MP-elect asked how we are going to control this rising extremism in Punjab.
The slapping incident that happened at Chandigarh Airport occurred during the security check. When I completed the security check and was waiting to pass the woman security officer, she came towards me, hit me, and started abusing me. When I asked why she did it, she said she supports the farmers. I am safe, but my concern is how to handle this shocking rise in terror and violence in Punjab.”
The MP-elect was slapped at security check for pushing the security personnel after Kangana refused to put her phone in the tray during security check. After arriving in Delhi, Kangna met CISF Director General Nina Singh and other senior officials and explained the incident to them, reported India Today. “I am getting a lot of phone calls, from the media as well as my well-wishers. First of all, I am safe, I am perfectly fine,” she said.
The Bollywood actor was elected to Lok Sabha from Mandi Constituency in Himachal Pradesh where she defeated her nearest Congress rival by over 74,000 votes.
