NEW DELHI : Union Minister of State (MoS) and former Army Chief VK. Singh’s ticket seems to be getting ruined. Expressing confidence only in the winning candidate in the first list of Bharatiya Janata Party released for Uttar Pradesh, party fielded them again on all 47 seats. The party parliamentary board has a negative opinion regarding VK Singh’s re-candidature.
According to political experts, major changes can definitely be seen on those seats where candidates have not been declared yet. It includes names of many people including VK Singh, Maneka Gandhi, Varun Gandhi, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, Sanghamitra Maurya. According to a senior BJP MP, the cancellation of ticket means that the Parliament or the MLA is not able to perform.
VK Singh is a big name but he is accused of neglecting the party workers and showing no interest in Development. The party does not tolerate neglect of workers. It is possible that the former army chief may have to suffer the consequences of the indifferent attitude of the region.
The candidature of the former Army Chief has been put on hold after huge complaints were received from party workers in Ghaziabad, especially in Loni area adjacent to the National capital. According to the information received, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his desire for change in Ghaziabad. Is seems tht Loni’s gross neglect has proved costly for VK Singh. According to a source close to Singh, in protest against Loni’s neglect along with the workers, other Hindu organizations working for the party have opposed Singh saying that if he is made a candidate again, we will play the role of a silent spectator in the elections..
A senior leader of the party said- A survey conducted before the elections has expressed apprehension about Singh’s victory. There is a lot of resentment among the local people regarding the neglect of the houses in Loni area after Ghaziabad. Loni RWA, an official said – We are waiting for the voting date. Due to organized opposition by BJP workers, local BJP leaders and workers are happily opposing them.
A senior BJP leader in Ghaziabad said that in the last elections the assurance we had given for the development of Loni has proved to be a lie. We have to avoid facing people. Especially regarding the repair of roads, construction of drains, potholes and development of the area, neither the local MLA nor MP VK Singh took any initiative regarding these.
Singh is accused of not mustering the courage to go to the spot in the last five years due to the protests prevailing in Indira Nagar area of this loni assembly constituency, which has a population of 16 lakhs. Central Government’s dispensary, CGHS, establishment of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Metro Rail project, have already been approved in principle, but not many quick initiatives have been taken for them. Despite continuous protests at the local level regarding this, Singh did not take any initiative. A worker said, now it’s our turn… The area of Loni has registered a name in the country from the point of view of pollution.
