Mamata pooh-poohs Roy, attacks BJP, asks TMC workers to help oust Modi Govt
KOLKATA: In first ever core committee meeting after Roy quit the party, TMC leader and Bengal Chief Minister pooh-poohed Mukul Roy (not even mentioning his name) saying “going out alone doesn’t make one leader,’’ and raised her voice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi who, she said needs to be ousted from Delhi.
Asking her party men to be alert and remain united in all fronts, she said: “We don’t need power in Delhi, but this dictatorial government should go as opposing it either “means public harassment or even liquidation.’’ I shall not get my phone number linked to aadhar, let us see how they get my numbers disconnected,’’ she challenged.
She also revived her old political line on both demonetization and GST, saying not everyone was fool. Even Yashwant Sinha and Manmohan Singh criticized Modi Jaiteley prescribed measures, do you think they do not know anything,’’ she asked.Incidentally, though she didn’t take even name of Mukul Roy, she is both perturbed over his pro-BJP activities in Delhi and Bengal.
Her fear being to what extent Roy now abetted by BJP will do damage in divulging party secrets,’’ feel political observers, adding, “she has also sent a message across to political parties trying to plan out strategies against Modi that she’s with them.’’
Though she attacked BJP over gagging media and right to speak, she again raised her voice about media reports over growing reports about dengue deaths and spreading fever. “It’s much less than the number you have in Delhi, Maharashtra, UP and other states,’’ she said, hinting that it’s a bad publicity.
