Love Virat’s aggression. Imagine if he was a fast bowler:Dale Steyn
NEW DELHI : Cricket fraternity was full of praise for Virat Kohli’s captaincy after India registered a 75-run win against Australia on Day 4 of the second Test at M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
After being humiliated in the first Test by Australia, Kohli-led India fought back hard to level series 1-1. With their back against the wall, the hosts showed a lot of grit and determination at Bengaluru, where fans witnessed one of the most memorable Test matches.
Kumar Sangakkara, Dale Steyn, Shoaib Akhtar all took to Twitter congratulate Kohli on the win and also praised his aggressive captaincy. Kohli, who has had a forgettable series so far with the bat, led the team brilliantly in the second Test after India’s 19-match unbeaten run came to an end in Pune.
Kohli on Tuesday called the second Test win over Australia as the best of his captaincy career, comparing his team to a snake which can sting from any direction. “Yes, this is the best one. I don’t want to say too much as the game panned out as it did. It was quite an emotional game for us,” Kohli said after the 75-run win which helped the Indians draw level in the four-match series.
“Everyone got along well. Talking about the head of the snake, the head did pretty well. It is not just about one individual here. This snake can sting from any direction. Some people need to keep that in mind,” he added, taking a veiled dig at Nathan Lyon’s comment about Kohli being the prized wicket.
India will now take on Australia in the third Test, scheduled to be played at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi from March 16.Zee News
