‘LeT planning infiltration, attacks on naval assets through sea route’
NEW DELHI/MUMBAI:The Indian Navy has been put on high alert amid intelligence inputs that Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists could try to infiltrate into India through sea route.
As per reports, the LeT could also target Indian naval assets, including warships, in the coming days.The naval wing of the LeT near Karachi, as per intelligence inputs, has been active for the past several months and could be planning attack on India.
Intel sources said the LeT could even take assistance of the Pakistani Navy for the purposes.
The inputs come just weeks after an alleged Pakistani terror boat was intercepted 365 miles off the Porbandar coast in Gujarat by the Coast Guard.Occupants of the vessel, believed to be four in number, had set the boat on fire after being challenged by the Coast Guard.
It may be recalled that the 10 terrorists, who carried out the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, had entered the Indian territory through sea route, sailing to Mumbai via Karachi in the Arabian Sea.
