Delhi surpassed Tamil Nadu to become 2nd worst affected after Maharashtra

covid1NEW DELHI : Corona virus cases in India rise to 4,40,215 which includes 1,78,014 active cases, 2,48,189 recovered cases, 1 migrant patient and 14,011 deaths as per the Ministry of Health data. 312 deaths and spike of 14933 new COVID19 positive cases reported in India in the last 24 hours. Recovery rate 56.37 percent.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, the country’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 14,011 with the 312 new fatalities. In its update, the ministry said the total number of recoveries stood at 2,48,189 that makes a recovery rate of 56.37 percent which saw steady improvement over the days. Presently, there are 1,78,014 active cases and all are under medical supervision, it said.

With over 59,000 COVID-19 cases, Delhi has now surpassed Tamil Nadu to become the second-worst affected state after Maharashtra. 58 persons succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday in the national capital taking the death toll to 2,233, said the health bulletin, adding that a total of 3,589 patients have recovered/discharged/migrated today taking the total number of recovered/discharged/migrated patients to 36,602.
The national capital (Delhi ) continues to see rise in the cases as there were 3,947 new cases in the last 24 hours, along with 68 deaths. Total now 66,602, death count at 2,301 and recoveries at 39,313.

Tamil Nadu: 2,516 new cases take the total to 64,603 cases, out of which 28,428 are active cases. There were 39 new deaths today; death count at 833. Chennai: 1,380 new cases; total 42,803 now. Karnataka: 322 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, active count at 3,563 now. Total positive cases at 9,721. Total COVID deaths – 150.
