NEW DELHI : The Delhi government today issued a circular advancing the summer vacation in all city schools as the national capital fights a massive battle against coronavirus. The vacation, earlier scheduled from May 11 to June 3, will now begin from tomorrow and schools will remain shut till June 9, the order said.
“In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation, the summer vacation during Academic Session 2021-2022 is hereby rescheduled and will be observed from April 20 to June 9,” the Directorate of Education (DoE) said in an official order. The summer vacations will be observed till June 9 2021, as per the official revised notification released by the Directorate of Education (DOE) today on its official website at edudel.nic.in.
In the current view of the COVID-19 situation, students will not be called to schools, however, vacation staff can be called by school principals for any school-related work such as academic, admission, examination etc., as per DoE’s latest order.
As per the latest Official statement by DoE “ Summer Vacation during Academic session 2021-22 were to be observed from 11.05.2021, Tuesday to 30.6.2021. Now, in view of COVID pandemic conditions, the Summer Vacation for the same academic session are hereby rescheduled and will be observed from 20.4.2021 to 09.06.2021.
During the vacation period, Heads of Schools are hereby authorized to call vacation staff as per requirement for any school-related work (academic, admission, examination etc.) maintaining COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Competent Authorities from time to time.”
