NEW DELHI : Congress general secretary tweeted a preview poster featuring Rahul Gandhi and his anit-corruption agenda. Rahul is set to be named as the prime-ministerial candidate from Congress against BJP’s Narendra Modi.A meeting among top Congress-men is on cards where Rahul Gandhi is expected to be named the prime ministerial candidate.
With a view of that, Congress general secretary Ajay Maken tweeted a preview poster featuring the 43-year-old party second-in-command Rahul Gandhi and its anti-corruption agenda.
The slogan of the campaign is Rahul ji ke nau hathiyar, door karenge bhrashtachar (Rahul ji has nine weapons with which he will end corruption), the posters list three laws and nine bills that the Congress-led UPA government intends to push in the next session of Parliament.
The three anti-corruption laws – the Black Money Regulation Act, Lokpal and the Right to Information Act – have been enacted during the UPA’s two-term tenure.
Mr Gandhi calls these the frame-work of his anti-corruption battle. The Congress vice-president worked hard to facilitate the passage in Parliament of the Lokpal Bill in a short winter session last month and his party gives him all the credit for the new law that was passed.
Among party circles, this is also called as a measure to battle AAP which made a spectacular debut riding on the anti-corruption wave. Also, Congress lost in four-poll bound states leading to a re-think in the strategy by Rahul Gandhi.
