Cleaning system from black money high on my agenda Says PM Modi
NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, cleaning the system of black money and corruption is presently high on his agenda. Mr Modi was speaking after jointly inaugurating via video conferencing the Economic Times Asian Business Leaders Conclave in Kuala Lumpur along with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Prime Minister said country is moving towards a digital and cashless economy. He said India is currently witnessing an economic transformation and the outcomes are visible from India’s global rankings on various indicators.
He expressed happiness that the constitutional amendment for Goods and Services Tax has been passed and it is expected to be implemented from next year.
Mr Modi said concerted efforts continued on major FDI policy reforms and conditions for investments have been simplified. He said total FDI inflows in the last two and a half years have touched 130 billion dollars.
Mr Modi also said, licensing regime has been rationalised greatly and investor facilitation cells have been set up to guide prospective investors. He said, India has now become the 6th largest manufacturing country in the world.
