Bollywood mourns death of music composer Aadesh Shrivastava
MUMBAI: Noted music composer Aadesh Shrivastava succumbed to the deadly disease of cancer on the same day he was born. The sad demise of Bollywood’s favourite music director has left the entire film fraternity in a lurch of grief.
Aadesh was battling cancer, which had relapsed for the third time. He was first diagnosed with multiple myeloma (cancer of the plasma cells) in 2010 and back then he had successfully won over it. Ironically, the music composer cum singer celebrated his birthday on September 4 and left for the heavenly abode at midnight, reportedly.
He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, and had been under treatment for more than 40 days. However, recently it was reported that doctors had stopped his chemotherapy as he was not responding to it, while they were planning to put him on an alternate therapy.
Aadesh’s brother-in-law and composer Lalit Pandit was quoted as saying that ‘he has been undergoing chemotherapy but he is not responding to it. So, the doctors have stopped giving him chemotherapy. They have an alternate theory. The doctors are trying to do their best and Aadesh is fighting it bravely.”
“Mr Aadesh Shrivastava 51 years old expired at 12.30 am on 5th September 2015 in Kokilaben Hospital due to cancer,” Dr Ram Narain of Kokilaben Hospital said.Aadesh has composed music for films like “Chalte Chalte”, “Baabul”, “Baghban”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”, “Rajneeti” and many more.
