BJP keeps Mukul Roy for a bigger Bengal show after Gujarat polls
KOLKATA : After successful state BJP rally and Mukul `exposing Mamata Banerjee and his nephew over Biswa Bangla,’ the central BJP leaders to cut loose Roy on TMC after “Gujarat elections are over.’’
After Gujarat elections which we will win, I will start touring Bengal from 23rd December,’’ Roy informed Newstrack24x7.com. And it would last till 23rd January,’’ Roy told this writer. To a question what is so special about Gujarat that he would be deployed there, Roy told this writer that “BJP central leaders know the reasons better.
Apparently, Roy, formerly a top ranking TMC leader to have recently joined BJP, hinted that after Gujarat, “Bengal will become first in priority list of areas where BJP will concentrate.’’Believe me we will win the next assembly elections for which we need to work hard,’’ he said, adding, “we will win I am confident.’’
Though Roy laughed when asked about the BJP strategy, party veterans said “the central party leaders want him to expose corruption in TMC which will get added up to accumulating popular frustrations of people in the state.
Roy who joined TMC when 1977-98 Mamata launched the new party after quitting Congress, “is expected to know party functioning much better with great organizational experience.’’BJP sources said: “While Roy is expected to script a bigger defection both in TMC and Left camp, and manage it too in expanding BJP.’’
Like 20 peasants from Singur today joined BJP who were all welcomed in both by Mukul Roy and Deelip Ghosh. These men TMC rebels,’’ said a party insider. Roy was equally confident “more will desert TMC and come to us. It will all happen after my tour begins for a month.’’
