BCCI announces full-strength squad for Bangladesh, Harbhajan Singh makes Test return
NEW DELHI:Ending all speculations, the Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced Team India squad for the upcoming Bangladesh tour.While Virat Kohli will lead the team in Tests, MS Dhoni will be the skipper in the ODIs.
BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur and selector Sandeep Patil announced the squad through a press conference post their meeting in Mumbai and the board also made the new official through its official account on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Speaking to media, Sandeep Patil said that Harbhajan has been picked considering the fact that there are a lot of left-handers in the Bangladesh squad.Responding to a query, Patil also said that there was no discussion done on Yuvraj Singh’s name for the tour.
Patil also confirmed that no players had requested for a rest and barring Mohammed Shami, all other players had reported fit for selction.Earlier, there were reports that Kohli was planning to skip the lone Test match against Bangladesh, scheduled to take place in Fatullah from June 10 to 14, to take some rest after a long and tiring season.
Team India will tour Bangladesh in June to play a one-off Test and three ODIs.The Test match will be played at Fatullah between June 10-14.The entire three-match ODI series will be played at Mirpur with the 1st ODI being played on June 18, 2nd ODI on June 21 and the final ODI on June 24.
