NEW DELHI: Prof Md Yunus may have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, but by lifting the ban on the banned Islamic party in Bangladesh , has became a challenge not only for Bangladesh but south Asia also.  And on the other side the return of Peace TV  cable networks in Bangladesh, pending approval from the interim government, raises significant questions about the spread of  Islamic ideology in a country already grappling with the challenge of extremism.
After the change of Government in Bangladesh influence of radical elements are growing in a manner causing concern for Indian establishment. The interim government of Bangladesh led by Noble peace laurate Professor Md Yunus lifted the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir which was banned by previous Sheikh Hssina Government on last august.
Before that Election Commission had terminated the recognition of Jamaet Islami .Though Chief of jamaet islami Dr Shafiqur Rahaman in a recent interview said that, they want harmonious and stable ties with India, but asserted that New Delhi needs to consider its foreign policy in the neighborhood ,as bilateral relations do not entail interfering ineach other internal issue. Answering to a question Spokesperson of ministry of external affairs Randheer Jaiswal said," we have noted the statement." But on the withdrawal of ban he said,"its their internal affairs." After the formation of Yunus Government in Bangladesh most of the top ultra right wing Islamic leaders were freed from the jail by the authority.
The caretaker Government has freed Leaders of a right wing outfit known to ‘Hizbut Tahirir ‘ and Jashimuddin Rahmani, the chief of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), an al-Qaida-affiliated terrorist outfit. It is a matter of concern for India as the terrorist group has been trying to establish a jihadi network with the help of sleeper cells sources from the government admits.
Expressing concern over the series of acquittal of the Islamic radical element former High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty saqid,” these development proves that why India has put all diplomatic option in one busket. It is good to have headlines that India should have tried alternative option in Bangladesh, but reality is something else.
Actually India had no option keeping its security concern in mind.” Incidentally , Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a phone call to Interim Government Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday and said he would soon send a high-powered delegation to Bangladesh in their efforts to help rebuild the country. Hizvut Tahirir is not banned in Turkey.
Meanwhile Pakistan Prime Minister Shabaz Shariff has also called Prof Yunus and promised all cooperation in development. New Delhi and White House has serious differences over the allowing Jamaet Islami to be a mainstream political party. Argument of USA was unless they are allowed to do political work in public they could be more dangerous ,if they remain underground. Washington was consistently insisting Hasina Government to withdrawal ban order against Jamaet.. The gazette notification for removing ban on Jamaet islami reads, & quot; Since there is no specific evidence of involvement of Jamaat, Shibir, and its front organisations in terrorist activities … And since the government believes that the organisations are not involved in terrorist activities."  So, the government as per Section-18 of the Anti-Terrorism Act- 2009, has cancelled the previous circular that banned Jamaat, Shibir and its front organisations, it said.
The decision will come into effect immediately, the notification added. On August 1, the previous Awami League-led government banned Jamaat, Shibir, and all of its associated organisations as political entities under the Anti-Terrorism Act-2009. On August 5, Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister and fled the country in the face of a mass uprising against her AL
government.
There is report that the group suppopted the 2011 Bangladesh coup d’etat attempt by some members of army who had tied with the group. On February 9 ,2013 charges were framed against six members of the group including chief coordinator Mohiuddin Ahmed.
