PATNA/ NEW DELHI : Union Minister and BJP President Amit Shah dialed Giriraj Singh the minister and reportedly asked him to avoid such statements. It should not happen again, he is believed to have told Giriraj Singh, a repeat offender when it comes to divisive comments.sources say, warned Giriraj against making such statments in future.

In the tweet, Giriraj Singh took a swipe at BJP leaders and allies seen in group photos at an Iftar party. “How beautiful would this picture have been if a Navratri meal would have been organised with the same eagerness. Why do we hold back on our own faith and get into pretence,” Mr Singh wrote in Hindi.
The accompanying photos featured Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his Deputy Sushil Modi of the BJP, another ally Ram Vilas Paswan, his son Chirag Paswan and the Iftar host, Jitan Ram Manjhi of the Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular), which was a part of the opposition coalition.
“Giriraj Singh makes such remarks deliberately, so that you (media) make news out of it,” Nitish Kumar responded hours later. He is already upset with the BJP over cabinet spots in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
The minister’s party colleague Sushil Modi had a sharper response: “I am proud to be a Hindu. I take part in Holi programs too, not just Iftar. I have been a part of Iftar celebrations for 25 years. People who never hosted a Holi Milan party are raising questions today.”

Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Tuesday took a jibe against his own party colleague Sushil Modi and BJP’s Bihar allies–JD(U) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP)–for attending an iftar party. Singh mocked BJP allies and his own party colleague in a tweet, tagging pictures where several alliance leaders could be seen having a good laugh at the iftar party.
Singh made the comments amid rising tension between JD(U) and BJP over allocation of cabinet berths. Soon after Giriraj Singh made the comment, JD(U) spokesperson Sanjay Singh slammed the Union minister, saying that has a “habit” of making such statements and should get a mental check-up done.Commenting on the Union minister’s comment, CM Nitish Kumar said Giriraj Singh did this with the intention of garnering media attention.
Meanwhile, LJP MP Chirag Paswan also criticised Giriraj Singh for his comment and said: “With the establishment of the Lok Janshakti Party, the fundamental idea of everyone, everyone’s development, and everyone’s faith is connected to the soul of the party.”
